Because of the shorter lifespan of our pets, we stress the importance of an annual physical examination. Thorough check-ups and preventive care can help alleviate serious health problems. We offer a wide range of veterinary services to keep your companions feeling their best:
Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services: Our hospital is equipped to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to care for your pets' complete health care needs.
Surgical Services: We offer a wide range of surgical services including orthopedic, exploratory and emergency.
Anesthesia: We utilize the safest available anesthetics to provide an extra margin of safety, especially for our older or high-risk patients.
We also implement a special small dog anesthetic protocol (under 20 pounds) that utilizes an IVC and fluids at no extra charge. We provide this as an extra measure of safety for dogs under 20 pounds.
Internal medicine consults: We offer in-hospital referrals to Washington State University where they perform ultrasounds and endoscopic procedures to help us with the diagnosis of more complicated cases.
Radiology Services: We take and develop our X-rays in clinic. When necessary we digitize our X-Rays and email them to a veterinary radiologist or to the WSU Radiology Department for interpretation.
Electrocardiography Services: We provide ECG services on-site as well as consultations with cardiology specialists.
Dentistry: Our dental services include teeth cleaning and polishing, dental X-rays, tooth extractions and minor oral surgery.
Laboratory: Our in-house laboratory facilities provide for serum chemistry, hematology, serology, urinalysis and parasite testing. We also utilize commercial veterinary laboratories for specialized diagnostics and consultations.
Permanent identification: We offer the Avid Friendchip microchip identification system to permanently identify your pets.
Pharmacy: We maintain a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals, flea and tick control products and heartworm preventatives to meet the needs of your pet. We will also utilize local human pharmacies and online pet pharmacies of your choice.
Individualized Flea Control Programs: We develop programs for the specific needs of your pet and your own particular environmental situation. We will review with you the best ways to control fleas in your house, in your yard and on your pet.
Dietary Counseling: We will provide guidance regarding your pet's nutritional needs for each life stage, including dietary requirements for growth, weight maintenance and performance.
Boarding: We provide pet boarding as a service to our clients. All boarders receive personal attention from our caring staff. Pets may be dropped off and picked up Monday through Friday from 7am to 6pm, Saturday from 7am to Noon or 5-6pm, and Sundays/Holidays from 7-8am or 5-6pm.
Grooming: Our groomer is currently not taking new clients. You are always welcome to leave your name and number with our Reception staff to be put on a waiting list for an opening.
Emergency Care: Clarkston Vet Clinic currently shares the Emergency On Call schedule with 3 other valley clinics, Riverview Animal Clinic of Clarkston, Southway Animal Clinic and Lewiston Vet Clinic of Lewiston. Call our clinic number after hours and the answering service will automatically put you in touch with the vet on call. If you and the on call vet decide your pet needs to be seen, be sure to clarify what vet clinic you should report to.
